DESCRIPTION
Kolodium forte is a medical device consisting of a solution containing medicinal substances, used for the gentle removal of warts, corns, hardened and horny skin.
Salicylic acid and lactic acid gently disrupt the wart, which gradually, painlessly disassociates. The treatment is helped by the antimicrobial and antifungal effects of celandine, whilst thuja stimulates the skin’s immune system thus suppressing the development of infection. Essential oil from pine resin has an antiseptic effect and supports subsequent skin regeneration.
Have a look at for a demonstration of how to remove a wart using Kolodium forte.
- painless therapy that even children find tolerable
- easy to apply, suitable for use at home
- comprehensive effect including subsequent skin regeneration
- contains plant components (celandine, thuja, turpentine essential oils)
- thanks to gentle active substances and repeated application, there is no irritation of the surrounding tissue (unlike preparations that are applied once, Kolodium forte is more gentle on the surrounding tissue and there is no risk of scarring)
The product contains kolodium (a solution of nitrated cellulose in a mixture of alcohol), salicylic acid a lactic acid. Salicylic acid softens the skin’s surface layer and has the ability to dissolve the intercellular mass by the so-called keratolytic effect (detachment of the upper, fully keratinized layer of the skin). This effect promotes the action of lactic acid, which also has a corrosive effect and reduces hyperkeratosis.
Celandine extract contains, in addition to the most effective alkaloid, chelidonine, a number of other alkaloids (including chelidoxanthin, sanquinarine), which have antimicrobial and antifungal effects when used externally.
Another active substance is purified turpentine essential oils from pine resin (Terebinthinae etheroleum rectificatum), which contains the terpene compounds pinene, camphene limonene. They have an antiseptic effect, support blood circulation to the tissue, increase the resorption of pathologically altered tissue and contribute to the formation of granulation tissue.
The preparation also includes an extract from the non-woody parts of the eastern white cedar (Thuja occidentalis), which contains a number of monoterpenes. These substances reduce the production of sebum (they have an “anti-seborrheic” effect), they also have a toning and smoothing effect.
